Ola Vista, San Clemente
This home is a great example of taking an existing home that has been left in its original state for a couple decades and breathing new life into it. Located in Southern California and a short walk to the beach, the clients wanted a home that would take advantage of the climate by opening up and living to the outdoors. The home was stripped bare and new materials and layout were introduced. Large sliding doors were installed to open up to a weather proof patio, although the patio is waterproof it still allows natural light and ventilation to circulate through the patio and the home by being elevated above the roofline of the home. The rear yard was overgrown and in disrepair so a fresh drought tolerant landscape was the final element in tying the home together in its new life and cohesive approach of the property as a whole.
